THIS IS A ONE OFF PEN RECENTLY COMPLETED COMBINING BRASS & STEEL IN
THE TRUE TRADITION OF THE SPITFIRE CONSTRUCTION.
The idea of designing and producing pens and pencils from the propeller of a World War II Spitfire was the result of a conversation with a customer who was also a propeller manufacturer.
The pen body is turned by hand on a lathe similar to those used in the 1940's and each one will vary in colour and grain structure depending upon which part of the propeller was used.
The original propeller serial number R4723 is laser engraved onto each pen making it a unique piece of World War II history.
I use the fountain pen technology of Schmidt for the nib and inkflow system. Each pen is fitted with a converter that enables filling from bottled ink, alternatively a standard ink cartridge can be used.
THE PEN IS BOXED WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY AND THE PROPELLER SERIAL NUMBER.
